National Cyber Security Awareness Month
This year commemorates October’s 17th year as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The annual, 31-day campaign encourages Americans to secure all resources necessary to practice online safety. Spearheading the efforts are the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA).
The theme for this year’s movement is “Do Your Part, #BeCyberSmart.” Every week, the NCSA will promote awareness about different cyber security efforts ranging from the do’s and don’ts of wirelessly connected devices to protecting information distributed for telemedicine. The full schedule is as follows:
Oct. 1 – 2: Official Kick-Off
Oct. 5 – 9: If You Connect It, Protect It
Oct. 12 – 16: Securing Devices at Home and Work
Oct. 19 – 23: Securing Internet-Connected Devices in Healthcare
Oct. 26 – 30: The Future of Connected Devices
