Why you should use vacation time to go on vacation
While Americans are taking more time off than they have since 2010, most aren’t using their vacation days to travel anywhere. But doing so can actually boost happiness as well as career success, according to an online poll from the US Travel Association’s ‘Project: Time Off’ initiative, which surveyed more than 4,000 employees.
Of the globetrotting participants, more than half received a promotion in the past two years, 86% received a raise or bonus, and 75% reported feelings of overall happiness.
Compare that to their staycation counterparts. Only 44% received a promotion in the past two years, 81% received a raise or bonus, and 25% reported overall happiness.
So, if you’re searching for more happiness and success, try getting to the end of the year with zero vacation days and a full passport!
